Following his successful run in tvN’s Typhoon Family, Lee Jun-ho returns with yet another transformation in Netflix’s new series Cashero.
Premiering on December 26, Cashero tells the story of Sang-woong, an ordinary salaried worker struggling with wedding expenses and soaring housing prices, who suddenly acquires an unusual superpower: his strength increases in proportion to the amount of money he holds. Torn between everyday living costs and his newfound abilities, the series presents a grounded, reality-driven hero narrative rooted in financial survival.
In the series, Lee plays Sang-woong, a regular civil servant saving up for a newlywed home who unexpectedly inherits superpowers overnight. Each time he uses his ability, his money disappears, placing him in constant dilemmas as he worries about his girlfriend Min-sook (played by Kim Hye-jun) and struggles to decide whether to protect the world or safeguard his livelihood.
Through Cashero, Lee Jun-ho is expected to deliver a nuanced and relatable portrayal of a hero caught between responsibility and reality, delicately capturing emotional conflict and moments of quiet desperation. His signature action sequences further heighten the viewing experience, adding spectacle to the show’s everyday tone.
Lee recently wrapped up Typhoon Family, where he depicted a coming-of-age journey with depth and sincerity, resonating with viewers across generations. With high character synchronicity and stable acting, he achieved both strong ratings and buzz, reinforcing his reputation as a dependable, “must-watch” actor.
Building on the success of MBC’s The Red Sleeve, JTBC’s King the Land, and Typhoon Family, Lee was recently honored at the 10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025, where he swept four awards, including the grand prize, AAA Actor of the Year.
