Spanish painter Eva Armisén, widely known for her warm portrayals of everyday happiness, is joining the Korean original musical “Lina, Superhero” as a producer.
Eva Armisén has earned both public affection and critical trust through numerous exhibitions in Korea, building a distinctive artistic world centered on comforting themes such as family, flowers, and daily life. Rather than dramatic events, her work delicately captures everyday emotions, drawing attention to how her visual language will expand within the musical genre, where music, performance, and stage design converge.
Since March of this year, Armisén has maintained ongoing discussions with the Korean creative team and demonstrated strong commitment to the project. In September, she visited Korea in person to participate in workshops, further expressing her passion and affection for the production.
The musical “Lina, Superhero” unfolds around the warm family scenes that have frequently appeared in Armisén’s paintings. The story follows an ordinary girl named Lina, her younger brother Mino, their grandmother, mother, and father, along with an abandoned robot doll.
Adding tension to the narrative are characters transformed into monsters by environmental destruction, including “Stick-Stick,” “Eat-Eat,” and “Cut-Cut,” who propel Lina and her companions into an imaginative and engaging adventure.
The characters featured in the production will soon be unveiled as new illustrations by Eva Armisén. In July 2026, these characters will step beyond the frame, coming to life on stage as a three-dimensional family musical where they move, sing, and dance.
Armisén’s message that “everyday happiness begins with the preservation of the Earth’s environment” expands into a story about a young girl who changes the world with her superpowers. The production is expected to resonate with audiences of all ages as a work that blends imagination with environmental awareness.
Ahead of the musical’s premiere, an interactive exhibition will be presented first. The exhibition will feature original character drawings by Armisén, materials documenting the production process, and new artworks, alongside a variety of hands-on experiences connected to the story. Visitors will have the opportunity to physically engage with the musical’s environmental themes through immersive activities.
Detailed information about “Lina, Superhero” will be released sequentially through its official account, which opens on December 23.
