Global group BTS reached a defining peak in pop culture in 2025 as their long-awaited reunion following military service was recognized by Billboard.
On December 23, BIGHIT MUSIC announced that Billboard included BTS’s reunion in its list titled “The Top 10 Wildest Music Moments That Defined Pop Culture in 2025,” released via the outlet’s official website.
According to Billboard, BTS’s return was highlighted alongside Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance, Taylor Swift’s marriage, and the global chart success of the Netflix film K-pop Demon Hunters. The outlet emphasized that the members’ sustained solo achievements during their military hiatus served as a key foundation supporting both the significance and impact of the group’s full reunion.
This recognition was built on a series of individual career highs, beginning with Jin’s global activities following his discharge, followed by j-hope’s Killin’ It Girl, which was named on Billboard’s “Best K-pop of 2025” list, and Jung Kook’s consistent presence on major charts. The expansion of each member’s musical reach through solo work helped further solidify global momentum ahead of BTS’s planned full-group comeback next year.
Plans for the group’s return are also taking clearer shape. BTS recently addressed fans through a live broadcast on the official fan platform Weverse, where they directly announced a new album slated for release next spring along with a large-scale world tour. The members said, “2026 will be the year of BTS,” adding, “Since it is an important year, we are preparing something big,” sending anticipation among fans worldwide to new heights.
