The OST from 'K-pop Demon Hunters', infused with the sensibility of The Black Label's producers, has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, proving the expanded global presence of K-pop penetrating deep into Hollywood narratives.
On the 9th, The Black Label announced that the OST 'Golden' from the Netflix animation 'K-pop Demon Hunters' has been nominated for Best Original Song at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
The nominated track 'Golden' is crafted by The Black Label composition team led by TEDDY, including IDO and 24. It serves as the main theme song that decorates the highlight scene of the virtual girl group Huntrix in the film. The track, in conjunction with the movie’s global success, achieved a remarkable milestone by topping the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks, proving both popularity and musicality.
Notably, unlike the Grammys, which evaluate technical musical achievements, or Billboard, which focuses on chart performance, this nomination is especially significant as the Golden Globes evaluate how much the music contributes to the narrative and cinematic aesthetics of a work. It highlights how the song has been recognized in the realm of global “artistic achievement” beyond trends.
Meanwhile, the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, where the fate of 'Golden' will be decided, will be held on January 11 next year.
