EXO, widely regarded as the pioneers of Kpop’s universe-based storytelling, has announced the arrival of their first full album in about three years, unveiling a film-like trailer that signals the beginning of a new chapter.
On the 8th, SM Entertainment released the cinematic trailer for EXO’s eighth full album ‘REVERXE’ through its official YouTube channel.
The trailer depicts the members (excluding Kai), who remain unaware of their supernatural abilities and perceive reality as if it were a dream, mysteriously gathering once again before the group’s symbolic ‘Tree of Life.’
Particularly eye-catching is the album title ‘REVERXE,’ revealed at the end of the video. A combination of ‘Reverse’ and EXO’s stylized spelling, it implies more than a simple return, suggesting the idea of becoming truly unified to open a new world.
This marks EXO’s first full album release in roughly three years since their seventh full-length album in 2023, and expectations are rising as the group aims to present a renewed form of the distinctive storytelling and charisma built since their 2012 debut.
Meanwhile, EXO will hold their fan meeting ‘EXO’verse’ on the 14th at Inspire Arena in Incheon. With Lay’s participation and the absence of ChenBaekXi (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin), the event will also feature the first-ever performance of tracks from the eighth full album, drawing attention as an indicator of their future direction.
