Singer Song Ga In has confirmed her 2026 concert in Los Angeles, marking a significant step forward in taking K-trot to the global stage.
Song Ga In will hold a solo concert titled “Gaindal The Chaoreuda” on February 14 and 15, 2026, in LA, presenting an authentic trot performance. The event is drawing attention as a meaningful opportunity to introduce the unique sentiment and aesthetics of Korean trot directly to global audiences.
Recently, social media has seen a surge in reaction videos from foreigners discovering Song Ga In’s music for the first time, demonstrating the expanding global potential of trot. In particular, reaction videos to “Asadal” featured comments such as “I don’t know the lyrics, but it feels sad,” “It’s sad but gives me strength,” and “Even without knowing the meaning, I can feel the emotion,” resonating widely and pushing up view counts.
The YouTube outlet “Le Desk” also showcased foreign viewers responding to classic trot tracks such as “Yongdusan Elegy” and “Han Manheun Daedonggang,” leaving remarks like “I almost cried” and “Her voice is so beautiful and her technique is outstanding.” These reactions reveal the emotional power of K-trot that transcends borders and language.
In an interview with YTN’s “Culture INSIDE,” Song Ga In shared, “There are many people who told me they cried even though they didn’t understand the lyrics,” adding, “If I get the chance, I’d love to try busking overseas wearing a hanbok.” That wish has now materialized in the form of the 2026 LA concert.
At the upcoming performance, Song Ga In plans to present the depth and sentiment of traditional trot through signature songs like “Eomma Arirang” and “Asadal.” Following K-pop, the emergence of a new Korean Wave genre, “K-trot,” is becoming increasingly possible.
Song Ga In continues to touch audiences both in Korea and abroad. Whether her 2026 LA concert “Gaindal The Chaoreuda” will become a milestone in the globalization of K-trot is drawing attention.
