The Red Dot Award, overseen by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, ranks among the top three design accolades globally. It annually distinguishes superior designs across three categories: product design, brand and communication design, and design concepts. The latter focuses on evaluating concepts, prototypes, and pre-launch product designs, aiming to spotlight innovative advances in design.
Hyundai first showcased its innovative hydrogen-based future mobility concepts, DICE (Digital Curated Experience) and SPACE (Spatial Curated Experience), at CES 2024. These concepts secured the main awards in the 'Autonomous' category, reflecting their competitive edge and innovative approach to autonomous mobility.
DICE offers a unique, AI-driven, autonomous experience with a user-centric variety of services, all integrated into a single platform. This concept is distinguished by Hyundai's signature vertical arch design, providing a blend of openness and coziness.
The SPACE concept offers passengers personalized space and seating, enhancing freedom of movement and comfort. It also features cutting-edge multimedia technologies, enabling passengers to enjoy various content seamlessly during transit, thus enriching the travel experience.
Additionally, the Santa Fe XRT concept received top honors in the 'Cars and Motorcycles' category. This design, based on the fifth-generation Santa Fe, is tailored for rugged off-road terrains and comes equipped with an array of outdoor lifestyle features such as a roof rack cargo carrier, a tailgate-mounted ladder, and a cargo box.
Genesis also made a mark with its NEOLUN concept, a large electrified SUV that received a main award in the 'Cars and Motorcycles' category. The NEOLUN represents a blend of simplicity and luxury, emphasizing Genesis's commitment to innovation and high-end design.
