Gravity has opened the global official homepage for its authentic MMORPG "Ragnarok 3" and begun pre-registration as of the 5th. The service is being handled by Gravity's subsidiary, Gravity Game Vision.
"Ragnarok 3" is a major successor title carrying on the legacy of Gravity's flagship intellectual property (IP), "Ragnarok Online," and was first revealed at G-Star 2024. It recreates the original's classic graphics and background music at high fidelity, and the original's illustrator, Lee Myung-jin (studio DTDS), took part in the concept artwork. The official homepage introduces the original's iconic job system, starting with the Novice and continuing through the Swordsman, Thief, Mage, Acolyte, Merchant, and Archer.

The game is being developed as a cross-platform MMORPG spanning PC and mobile. It puts real-time, large-scale combat front and center, and the G-Star 2024 demo showcased 120-versus-120 guild wars along with character creation and customization, a party system, sewer dungeons, MVP content, and a GVE dragon raid. On top of that, season-based content — with maps, gimmicks, and rewards changing each season — was also teased.

In the "Dev Team Note Vol.1" video released alongside the pre-registration, the development team's producer appeared personally to share the latest development progress, including the state of regional test preparations, PC version optimization, improvements to job and combat feel, new five-person dungeon and MVP content, and season-based themes. The producer said, "We don't want to stop at merely recreating nostalgia — we want to be the starting point where players' 'new memories' begin." The video has surpassed one million views.

Global fan reaction — anticipation and wariness of 'pay-to-win' side by side
The released videos and trailers drew a flood of reactions from global players who remember the original. The first gameplay trailer released earlier gathered more than 4,000 comments, and the Dev Team Note video likewise cleared one million views, confirming the intense interest. Most of the responses welcomed the return of an authentic sequel after some 20 years — hopes that it would preserve the original's feel exactly as it was, praise that it had properly captured the classic atmosphere, and voices waiting for an official global and Western launch. A stream of comments also reminisced, wishing to return to those days when school and Ragnarok were everything.
That said, wariness toward the monetization model was just as pronounced as the anticipation. The most-upvoted comment was a plea from original fans not to ruin the game with pay-to-win, and to limit monetization to the level of cosmetic items. Given that past Ragnarok sequels and spin-offs went through ups and downs amid monetization controversies, how "Ragnarok 3" addresses this concern is seen as the key point to watch running through this pre-registration.
Gravity is preparing to launch "Ragnarok 3" with a target of 2026. With some plans indicating a Hong Kong FGT scheduled for December 19–21, 2026, however, whether the 2026 release will actually happen remains uncertain.
