[News Culture] A Bona Fide Killer is about to reveal the truth behind the Christmas shooting that changed two women’s lives 15 years ago.
Episodes 3 and 4, airing Aug. 7 and 8, will bring Yoo Bo-na, played by Gong Hyo-jin, face to face with Oh Hyun-nam, portrayed by Ha Yul-ri, as their shared past begins to catch up with them.
The opening episodes established Bo-na as far more than the ordinary wife and mother she appears to be. Once known as the legendary sniper Kingfisher, she returned to the field and completed her first assignment with ruthless precision.
The bigger shock came when Hyun-nam was revealed to have witnessed the attack that killed her father. What initially seemed like a chance encounter was instead rooted in a tragedy neither woman has been able to leave behind.
This week, the tension between them finally boils over. In newly released stills, Bo-na refuses to back down as she grips an empty glass bottle, while Hyun-nam appears close to tears, overwhelmed by years of anger and grief.
The confrontation grows even more dangerous when Bo-na’s husband, Kwon Tae-sung, played by Jung Joon-won, becomes part of the threat. Faced with an impossible choice, Bo-na is pushed toward a decision that could permanently alter her family and her relationship with Hyun-nam.
Hyun-nam’s home offers another chilling glimpse into the depth of her fixation. The walls are covered with photographs documenting Bo-na’s daily life, suggesting that her pursuit has been far more personal and calculated than anyone realized.
As the reasons behind that obsession come into focus, the bond between the two women is set to shift in ways neither expected.
Tae-sung, meanwhile, continues following a trail of apparently unrelated cases. His investigation leads him to a connection so disturbing that it forces him to reconsider everything he thought he knew.
The discovery also brings back memories of the shooting that nearly killed him, leaving him torn between fear, suspicion and the need to uncover the truth.
Detective Lee Dong-jin, played by Lee Sang-yi, is also gaining ground. Ballistics evidence from the crime scene challenges his original theory and raises the possibility that Kingfisher may have had help.
Rather than wait for another attack, Dong-jin begins working to identify the next target, turning the investigation into a race against time.
The production team said Bo-na and Hyun-nam’s relationship will enter a decisive new phase as the past begins shaping their choices in the present.
They added that the hunt for Kingfisher will intensify, forcing every character to move faster as the conspiracy around them grows more dangerous.
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, A Bona Fide Killer airs Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m.
