[News Culture] Namkoong Min is taking the investigation into his own hands as The Husband heads into its final two episodes.
The upcoming August 8 broadcast will see Kang Tae-joo confront his father-in-law, Go Dong-chan, in a tense late-night meeting. The encounter follows a devastating revelation: Tae-joo was the true target of the murder scheme that has driven the series’ central mystery.
No Man-hee’s confession gives Tae-joo the missing piece he needs. Rather than wait for another attack, he begins retracing the conspiracy from the inside, questioning the people closest to him and reconsidering every alliance he once trusted.
The investigation took a sharp turn in episode 10 when hospital deputy director Choi Chi-woong was identified as a key figure behind Go Se-yoon’s abduction and the manipulation of Kim Kyung-ae. The discovery widened the case beyond a personal vendetta, pointing instead to a carefully coordinated operation rooted within the hospital.
That trail now leads Tae-joo to Go Dong-chan.
Their confrontation unfolds in an outdoor parking lot after dark, far from the hospital and the family members connecting them. Tae-joo arrives not as a son-in-law seeking reassurance, but as a man demanding the truth. His restrained anger and unwavering stare suggest that the meeting is less a conversation than an interrogation.
Dong-chan’s response remains concealed, leaving open the question of whether he is another piece on the board or the person who has been moving it all along.
The scene also marks a turning point for Tae-joo. Until now, he has been forced to react as threats closed in around him. With the conspiracy finally taking shape, he appears ready to make the first move—even if exposing the truth means destroying what remains of his family.
Namkoong Min brings that shift to the surface without overplaying it, balancing Tae-joo’s isolation with the cold focus of a man who can no longer afford hesitation. Jang Gwang counters with a performance built on silence and uncertainty, keeping Dong-chan’s intentions unreadable even under pressure.
The production team said No Man-hee’s revelation would allow Tae-joo to connect the clues that have been scattered throughout the series. They also described the meeting between Namkoong Min and Jang Gwang as one of the drama’s key acting showdowns, teasing another reversal before the finale.
Episode 10 recorded a nationwide rating of 7.2 percent and peaked at 9 percent, ranking first in its time slot. The series also topped Disney+ Korea’s daily Top 10 series chart.
With only two episodes left, The Husband is no longer asking who can be trusted. The final question is how far Tae-joo will go once he learns who wanted him dead.
