[News Culture] Park Eun-bin’s next case in Spooky in Love reaches centuries into the past.
Episode 5 of the tvN weekend drama sends Cheon Yeo-ri, played by Park, to a museum with Kang Min-hwan, played by Ong Seong-wu. What begins as a formal unveiling of historic artifacts soon spirals into an unexplained accident — and the arrival of a ghost dressed as a Joseon-era court painter.
Since surviving a brush with death, Yeo-ri has accepted that her ability to see ghosts comes with a responsibility: helping the dead resolve the regrets that keep them from moving on.
Her cases have ranged from lost children to spirits trapped for generations, each carrying a final request. This time, however, she encounters someone from a far more distant past — a painter whose unfinished story appears to be tied to the museum’s newly unveiled collection.
Newly released stills show Yeo-ri sensing that something is wrong even before the event descends into chaos. The once-orderly venue is thrown into confusion by a sudden accident, leaving Min-hwan visibly shaken as Yeo-ri searches for a supernatural explanation.
The mysterious painter soon appears in centuries-old hanbok, his presence blending eerily with the artifacts on display. He says nothing, but his expression suggests a story preserved for hundreds of years — and a reason for seeking Yeo-ri out now.
Yeo-ri immediately recognizes that this spirit carries a different energy from the ghosts she has previously encountered. As she begins piecing together the clues, the museum exhibition becomes the center of a mystery connecting a buried past to the present.
Why the painter has returned, what he wants from Yeo-ri and how his story is linked to the artifacts will be revealed in Episode 5.
The next chapter of Spooky in Love airs August 1 at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN.
