According to Spotify on the 28th, “Tick-Tack,” a track from ILLIT‘s (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) second mini-album I’LL LIKE YOU, accumulated 200,023,727 streams as of the 26th. This marks ILLIT‘s third song to reach 200 million streams.
“Tick-Tack” is a pop track that captures the chaotic, constantly changing emotions inside one’s mind. The unique electronic sound in the introduction immediately grabs the listener‘s attention, while the signature scat sound in the chorus?mimicking the ticking sound of a clock?creates a highly addictive hook. The key point choreography, which resembles taking a photo with one’s fingers, gained immense popularity across global short-form video platforms.
The cumulative streams of all songs released by ILLIT have surpassed 2.8 billion on Spotify. Their debut song, “Magnetic,” reached over 800 million plays in the shortest time for a K-pop group‘s debut song (roughly 2 years and 1 month). Meanwhile, “NOT CUTE ANYMORE” and “Tick-Tack” have both exceeded 200 million streams, with “Lucky Girl Syndrome,” “Cherish (My Love),” “Do the Dance,” and “jellyous” each surpassing 100 million streams.
