"AGENT KIM" delivered one of its biggest turning points Friday, as Kim finally rescued his daughter only to find himself secretly transferred to North Korea in the episode's closing moments.
Episode 7 followed Kim (So Ji-sub), Seong Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-cheol (Yoon Kyung-ho) as they fought to bring Min-ji (Seo Soo-min) to safety before settling the score with Ju Kang-chan (Joo Sang-wook), the man behind the conspiracy that had upended their lives.
Flashbacks revisited Kim's military past, revealing the moment he warned his superiors that he would no longer carry out impossible orders if they continued breaking their promises. Although some viewed him as a threat, the commander of the Cheonsan Unit ultimately decided Kim had already sacrificed enough for his country and allowed him to leave.
Their escape, however, was far from over.
Ju Kang-chan's men ambushed the group with a container truck before releasing sleep gas inside the vehicle. As Min-ji lost consciousness, Kim stayed by her side, reassuring her that she would be safe. Kim and Seong Han-su resisted the effects of the gas, while Park Jin-cheol quickly rejoined the fight after regaining consciousness.
The episode's biggest action sequence followed as Park battled Nam Sil-jang (Lee Dong-ha) while Kim chased after the moving container carrying Min-ji. Leaping onto the speeding trailer, he forced his way into the driver's cab and brought the vehicle under control, rescuing his daughter before it was too late.
With Min-ji finally safe, Kim confronted Ju Kang-chan.
Ju insisted that every crime he had committed was for the sake of his daughter and even tried to persuade Kim to join him. Kim rejected the argument outright, saying that nothing could justify destroying another family. After overpowering Ju, Kim prepared to finish the fight, but Min-ji stepped in before things went any further.
Instead of seeking revenge, Kim demanded an apology. Ju was forced to kneel before Min-ji and admit his wrongdoing before she told him to turn himself in alongside Hye-ri.
Back home, Kim finally revealed the truth about his past to Min-ji during a quiet birthday dinner surrounded by soldiers and government agents waiting outside. After promising that becoming her father had been the only life he truly wanted, Kim peacefully surrendered to authorities. Seong Han-su and Park Jin-cheol were also taken into custody.
The closing minutes introduced an even bigger twist.
While Ju Kang-chan began relying on political connections and legal support to protect himself, surviving enemies Park Kang-seong (Kim Sung-kyu) and Geum I-ppal (Jo Bok-rae) resurfaced, signaling that the conflict was far from over. Elsewhere, Jeong Sang-ah (Son Na-eun) was demoted, Im (Park Jin-woo) shut down his laundromat, and both Seong Han-su and Park Jin-cheol were placed in solitary confinement.
Kim remained in military custody until unidentified men injected him with a mysterious blue serum. When he regained consciousness, he found himself strapped to an electric chair inside an unfamiliar interrogation room. The propaganda slogans on the walls and the portrait of North Korea's supreme leader revealed that he had been secretly transferred across the border.
An interrogator welcomed him back by calling him "66," ending the episode with the series' biggest cliffhanger to date.
According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 7 recorded a nationwide rating of 21.9%, slipping slightly from the previous week while remaining one of South Korea's highest-rated dramas.
