Former Borussia Dortmund players Lee Young-pyo and Park Joo-ho have been appointed members of the newly launched K-Football Innovation Committee, placing two ex-BVB stars at the heart of South Korean football's reform efforts.
The committee, established to overhaul the country's football governance and development system, will be co-chaired by FIFA committee member Park Ji-sung and Korean Sport & Olympic Committee president Yoo Seung-min.
Lee, who played for Dortmund during the 2008-09 season, and Park, who represented the Bundesliga club between 2015 and 2017 after spells at Mainz and Basel, will contribute their experience of European football as the committee works on governance reform, youth development and the introduction of advanced technologies.
The committee is expected to operate until the next executive leadership of the Korea Football Association is established, with the aim of laying the foundation for the future of Korean football.
