Hanroro is bringing one of her fan-favorite unreleased songs to streaming platforms through an unexpected partnership with Sanrio's beloved character Pompompurin.
Mount Media Authentic announced on July 7 that the collaborative single "You and I" will be released on July 9.
Originally unveiled during Hanroro's solo concert Grapefruit Apricot Club last year, "You and I" drew an enthusiastic response despite remaining unreleased. The track pairs Hanroro's understated vocal style with lyrics about discovering hope for tomorrow through a meaningful encounter, creating an intimate and comforting atmosphere.
The collaboration grew out of the pair's surprise appearance at the 18th Seoul Jazz Festival in May. Their unexpected stage together quickly caught the attention of audiences, leading the concept to develop into an official collaboration project.
The release also highlights a growing trend of combining music with character intellectual property. By pairing Hanroro's emotionally driven songwriting with one of Sanrio's most recognizable characters, the project extends the song beyond a traditional digital single into a broader storytelling experience designed to resonate with fans.
Hanroro has continued to build momentum in recent months, winning the Rock/Ballad Award at the 35th Seoul Music Awards and being selected as Korea's representative for YouTube's 2026 Foundry global artist development program.
