The first teaser for her upcoming digital single "Forever July," released by ABYSS Company on July 7, suggests a shift away from the dramatic contrasts that have long defined her music, favoring a quieter and more reflective atmosphere instead.

The newly unveiled chorus sets that tone from the outset. Built around a delicate melody, the brief preview lets Sunmi's signature vocal color take center stage, creating an understated sense of warmth rather than immediate impact.

The accompanying concept photos reinforce the same direction. Everyday moments under the midsummer sun replace elaborate visual storytelling, while natural lighting and understated styling create an intimate atmosphere that complements the music instead of competing with it.

The overall presentation marks a departure from the darker intensity of songs such as "TAIL" and "STRANGER" as well as the vibrant summer energy of "Heart Burn" and "Balloon in Love." Rather than revisiting either extreme, "Forever July" appears to carve out its own space, introducing a more understated side of Sunmi's artistry.
