The race for the South Korean box office tightened once again on Monday as The Eyes narrowly moved back ahead of Toy Story 5, continuing one of the summer's closest theatrical contests.
According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the suspense thriller starring Shin Min-a attracted 43,650 moviegoers on July 6, lifting its cumulative admissions to 886,348.
Rather than fading after its opening week, The Eyes has continued to gain traction through sustained audience support, allowing it to trade the No. 1 position with Toy Story 5 as the two releases remain locked in a closely fought race.
Disney-Pixar's Toy Story 5 followed closely in second with 30,951 admissions. Despite surrendering the daily lead, the animated blockbuster has amassed 2,249,447 admissions, remaining the year's highest-grossing international release in South Korea.
Colony held third place with 9,642 admissions, increasing its cumulative total to 5,851,949.
The infection thriller stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok and Ko Soo.
Starring Timothée Chalamet, Marty Supreme remained fourth with 5,506 admissions, bringing its cumulative total to 75,770.
Comedy Wild Sing rounded out the top five with 4,806 admissions, lifting its cumulative admissions to 1,308,421.
