SBS's AGENT KIM shifts into a higher gear this week as Kim Boo-jang's desperate search for his missing daughter leads him back to an old ally—and straight into a firefight. Episode 3 marks the beginning of a full-scale partnership between So Ji-sub and Choi Dae-hoon, with the series expanding both its action and emotional stakes.
The new episode follows Kim Boo-jang as his investigation reaches a critical turning point. After exhausting every available lead, he seeks out his former companion, Sung Han-soo (Choi Dae-hoon). Their reunion quickly turns into a fight for survival when they are forced into a direct confrontation with a dangerous criminal group.
Newly released preview images spotlight the pair's contrasting yet complementary styles. Dressed in a black suit, Kim Boo-jang methodically sizes up his opponents before launching into action, while Sung Han-soo, wearing a taekwondo uniform, steps into the fight with unwavering resolve. One of the episode's standout moments features the two men standing back-to-back, pistols drawn, as they battle their way through a tightening ambush.
More than just an action showcase, Episode 3 marks the return of a partnership shaped by years of shared history. Their reunion promises to strengthen the drama's emotional core while giving the story a faster, more aggressive rhythm as Kim Boo-jang pushes closer to the truth behind his daughter's disappearance.
So Ji-sub continues to anchor the series with a restrained yet increasingly desperate portrayal of a father who has nothing left to lose. Choi Dae-hoon brings a different energy as Sung Han-soo, a loyal friend willing to risk everything without hesitation, creating a dynamic that adds warmth and humor alongside the escalating violence.
"Beginning with Episode 3, both the action and the story move into a much more intense phase," the production team said. "Kim Boo-jang and Sung Han-soo's partnership will become a major driving force behind the drama and deliver an even more immersive viewing experience."
Episode 3 of SBS's AGENT KIM airs July 3 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
