The Eyes continued its late box office surge on Thursday, holding off Toy Story 5 for a second consecutive day at No. 1 as the Korean theatrical market heads into the weekend.
According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the suspense thriller starring Shin Min-a sold 50,724 tickets on July 2, lifting its cumulative admissions to 482,861.
After climbing to the top of the chart on its eighth day in release, the film has sustained its momentum with attendance that continues to outpace its opening-day performance, strengthening expectations for another solid weekend.
The film stars Shin as Seo-jin, a woman whose gradual loss of vision leads her to investigate the mysterious death of her twin sister, uncovering long-buried secrets along the way.
Toy Story 5 remained close behind in second place with 45,353 admissions. The Disney-Pixar blockbuster has now amassed 1,789,459 admissions after more than two weeks atop the Korean box office.
Colony climbed back to third with 13,012 admissions, bringing its cumulative total to 5,771,239.
The infection thriller stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok and Ko Soo.
Timothée Chalamet's Marty Supreme finished fourth with 13,605 admissions, increasing its cumulative total to 31,762.
Comedy Wild Sing re-entered the top five after selling 6,987 tickets, pushing its cumulative admissions to 1,268,375.
