The search for Kim Boo-jang's missing daughter takes a far more dangerous turn this week. Episode 3 of SBS's AGENT KIM finds the once-ordinary father pushing deeper into the criminal organization, trading patience for force as his desperate search leaves little room for compromise.
The action thriller follows a family man whose life is upended when his daughter disappears, forcing him into a relentless pursuit that pulls him closer to the country's criminal underworld. The series has quickly emerged as one of Korea's breakout television hits, opening with double-digit ratings before climbing to a peak of more than 18 percent by its second episode.
Its momentum has extended beyond television audiences. So Ji-sub quickly became one of the week's most talked-about television actors, while AGENT KIM also ranked among Korea's top trending dramas, reflecting growing viewer interest after its premiere.
Last week's episode marked a turning point for Kim Boo-jang. Faced with dwindling leads and mounting desperation, he decided to stop playing by the rules, setting himself on a collision course with the people responsible for his daughter's disappearance. The episode closed with new clues and a cryptic message hinting that she may still be alive, leaving viewers with one of the season's biggest cliffhangers.
Episode 3 wastes little time escalating the conflict. Kim Boo-jang takes the fight straight to the organization itself, relying on bold, unpredictable tactics that force his enemies onto the defensive. Rather than waiting for answers, he begins creating opportunities through direct confrontation.
The story also gains a new dynamic with the arrival of an old friend, played by Choi Dae-hoon, whose unexpected involvement reshapes Kim Boo-jang's mission. Their sharply different approaches promise to add fresh tension to both the action and the emotional stakes.
"The episode captures the moment when a father's determination reaches its breaking point," the production team said. "The chemistry between the characters will bring a new layer of intensity to both the action and the emotional journey."
Episode 3 of SBS's AGENT KIM airs July 3 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
