[NC Box Office] ‘Colony’ Reclaims No. 1 After One Day, Nears 5 Million Admissions as ‘Wild Sing’ Climbs Back to No. 2

Colony returned to the top of the Korean box office after just one day, moving within striking distance of the 5 million-admission milestone.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing network on June 12, Colony drew 40,617 moviegoers on June 11 to reclaim the No. 1 spot on the daily chart. Its cumulative admissions reached 4,911,773.

The survival thriller follows a group of isolated survivors trapped inside a quarantined building during a mysterious outbreak, forced to confront infected individuals evolving into increasingly unpredictable forms. The film stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock and Ko Soo.

Wild Sing climbed back to second place with 26,677 admissions, bringing its cumulative total to 664,623.

The comedy centers on Triangle, a once-popular co-ed dance group that reunites 20 years after an abrupt breakup in a bid for an unlikely comeback. The film stars Kang Dong-won, Park Ji-hyun, Uhm Tae-goo and Oh Jung-se.

Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day fell to third place after topping the chart on its opening day. The film added 25,357 admissions on Thursday, raising its cumulative total to 82,283.

The mystery thriller explores the chaos and psychological fallout that erupt after humanity learns that intelligent extraterrestrial life exists.

Backrooms remained in fourth place with 15,973 admissions. Its cumulative audience climbed to 867,338.

The film follows Clark and Mary as they encounter inexplicable phenomena within a surreal world of yellow walls and endless fluorescent corridors.

Rounding out the top five was Sheep in the Box (2025), the latest feature from Hirokazu Kore-eda. The film attracted 5,677 moviegoers on June 11, bringing its cumulative admissions to 25,906.

The drama follows a seven-year-old humanoid brought into a household to replace a deceased child, exploring both the comfort of belonging and the lingering fear of being abandoned again.
