French bestselling novelist Bernard Werber will meet Korean readers later this month at a special book talk centered on his forthcoming novel Waltz of the Soul, as part of celebrations marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and South Korea.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Library, the event will take place on June 28 at Planet Gyeonggi Hall and will feature a conversation between Werber and literary critic Heo Hee. The discussion will focus on the inspiration behind Waltz of the Soul, the author's creative process and the philosophical ideas that have shaped his body of work.
Werber remains one of the most successful foreign novelists in Korea. Since the breakout success of The Ants, he has built a loyal readership through titles including The Thanatonauts, Empire of the Angels and The Prophecy of the Bees, blending science, spirituality and speculative storytelling into a signature literary universe.
The event is supported by the Cultural Department of the French Embassy in Korea and forms part of a broader slate of cultural initiatives commemorating 140 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Registration opens June 12 through the Gyeonggi Library website and will remain available until capacity is reached.
