The DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) has unveiled its official slogan and poster for the 18th edition of the event, which is set to open in September.
The festival's 2026 slogan, "Peace Does Not Remain Silent," underscores documentary cinema's role in bearing witness to conflict, challenging silence and engaging with contemporary realities.
According to the festival, the fractured typography featured in the poster represents cracks and ruptures that give rise to new voices rather than remaining confined to silence. The broken fragments are intended to evoke testimony, expression and the pursuit of truth, reflecting documentary filmmaking's commitment to recording, witnessing and questioning the world around it.
DMZ Docs also announced its "Promise for a Festival of Peace and Hospitality" approximately 90 days ahead of the opening. The initiative is designed to promote respect for differences and encourage dialogue, exchange and coexistence through the values of peace, life and communication.
The 18th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival will run from Sept. 10-16 across Goyang and Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The accompanying 2026 DMZ Docs Industry program is scheduled for Sept. 11-14.
