Saxophonist YUN YEACHAN's homecoming recital offers audiences a chance to experience the refined articulation, expansive phrasing and contemporary sonic possibilities of the classical saxophone. Joining him on stage will be pianist Oh Ji-eun, saxophonist Hong Gyu-seon and the KIS Ensemble (Korea International Saxophone Ensemble). The program features works by Vincent David, Antonio Vivaldi and Alfred Desenclos.

The recital presents a carefully curated selection of cornerstone classical saxophone repertoire alongside modern works. Opening the evening is Vincent David's Mirages, a contemporary composition inspired by images of illusion and refraction, demanding exceptional precision of tone and concentration from the performer. This will be followed by Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in C Major, RV 533, in which saxophonist Hong Gyu-seon joins YUN YEACHAN to create a vivid dialogue between two saxophone voices. The program also includes Alfred Desenclos' Prélude, Cadence et Finale, widely regarded as an essential technical and musical benchmark for saxophonists, combining lyrical expression with intricate virtuosity. The concert concludes with Vincent David's Rhizome, performed with the KIS Ensemble, expanding the sonic landscape from solo performance to large-scale ensemble textures.

YUN YEACHAN completed the gifted education program at Kangnam University as an outstanding performance student before graduating with honors from the Korea National University of Arts. He later earned his master's degree from the Royal Conservatory of Liège in Belgium and completed a postgraduate performance program at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.

His international reputation grew after becoming the first Korean musician to win Second Prize in the Senior Division of the FISP International Saxophone Competition in Portugal. He has also received top honors at numerous domestic and international competitions, including the Korea Music Universities Wind Orchestra Association Competition and the Nouvelle Étoiles Paris International Online Music Competition, as well as awards from several prestigious Korean music contests.

During his years in Europe, YUN performed by invitation at venues including Liège City Hall and historic churches in Belgium, while also appearing at events hosted by the Japanese, Belgian and Dutch embassies. He was selected as an outstanding chamber musician with the Rodin Quartet and has appeared with the Antwerp Saxophone Ensemble, performed at the 19th World Saxophone Congress and served as a guest performer with the Ditto Orchestra at Lotte Concert Hall. His activities have spanned orchestral, chamber and solo performance settings. He has also appeared on the JTBC variety program Talkpawon 25 Hours, introducing the saxophone to a wider audience. He currently performs with Paraklesis, KIS Ensemble and the Étoile Saxophone Quartet, while also serving as conductor of the Elim Orchestra.

Pianist Oh Ji-eun studied at the Korea National University of Arts Preparatory School and School of Music before graduating from Yonsei University's College of Music. After completing her graduate studies in collaborative piano at Yonsei University as the top student in her class, she continued her studies in opera coaching at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in Austria.

The KIS Ensemble, which joins the second half of the recital, is a professional wind ensemble composed of musicians trained at leading conservatories across France, Belgium and Germany. The group features eight saxophonists: Sim Seung-eun, Kim Dong-hoon, Jeon Chan-ho, Hong Gyu-seon, Lim Jae-yong, Han Da-won, Lee Jun-woo and Yoon Young-seok, adding further depth and richness to the evening's musical experience.
