Actress Shin Min-a unveils a striking transformation through dual roles in the upcoming suspense thriller "The Eyes," which has now lifted the veil with its first teaser trailer.
"The Eyes" follows Seo-jin, a woman gradually losing her eyesight due to a hereditary disease, as she begins uncovering the mystery surrounding the death of her twin sister and eventually comes face-to-face with its terrifying truth.
The teaser immediately creates unease with Seo-jin’s haunting narration: “I often dream about Seo-in,” followed by, “She always looked sad.” Images of Seo-jin’s darkroom filled with photographs of eyes, combined with her unstable gaze, build a tense atmosphere charged with sensory suspense.
As Seo-jin traces the final remnants left behind by her deceased twin sister Seo-in, both portrayed by Shin Min-a, the tone abruptly shifts with the line: “My sister died. No... someone killed my twin sister.”
From there, the teaser tightens its grip through Seo-jin’s increasingly blurred vision and the slow approach of an unidentified threat. Nervous eyes constantly scanning the darkness, along with shadowy figures caught only within fragments of sight, amplify the film’s suffocating psychological pressure.
The presence of actors Kim Nam-hee, Lee Seung-ryong, and Kim Young-ah further heightens curiosity surrounding the truth Seo-jin will ultimately uncover.
Even through its teaser alone, "The Eyes" signals an intensely controlled suspense experience built around unstable perception, fear, and psychological collapse. The film is scheduled for release on June 24.
