The Generals brings together Son Suk-ku and Ha Jung-woo in a large-scale ensemble directed by Yoon Jong-bin.
From his debut The Unforgiven to Nameless Gangster, Kundo, The Spy Gone North, and the Netflix series Narco-Saints, Yoon has built a reputation for dense storytelling and sharp character work. With The Generals, he once again examines the contradictions of power within Korea’s modern history.
The film follows a man who lives in the shadow of an absolute authority figure while pursuing his own ascent. Positioned as a perpetual second-in-command, he moves toward the top, navigating a complex web of ambition, loyalty, and survival.
Son Suk-ku takes on the role of a figure long remembered as the right-hand man to power, portraying the layered psychology of a man chasing the position of No.1. Opposite him, Ha Jung-woo plays an overwhelming authority figure, drawing attention for his interpretation of one of modern history’s most controversial leaders.
Ji Chang-wook appears as a sharp rival who heightens tension, while Hyun Bong-sik and Seo Hyun-woo reinforce the narrative through tightly woven ensemble performances.
Set against a turbulent historical backdrop, the film aims to capture the raw instincts and survival strategies of individuals shaped by power structures.
Produced by Moonlight Film and Sanai Pictures, both known for major streaming and theatrical projects, The Generals is positioned as a global Netflix release.
