Salmokji continued its dominant run at the box office, holding the No.1 position for 16 consecutive days.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system on April 24, Salmokji drew 48,411 viewers on April 23, maintaining the top spot. Its cumulative audience has reached 1,640,309.
The horror film follows a mysterious figure captured on a road-view image at Salmokji, leading a film crew back to a reservoir for reshoots, where they encounter something lurking in the dark depths of the water.
AUDITION 109, the sequel to Wind, climbed to second place with 20,679 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 52,572.
The film follows “Jjang-gu” (Jung Woo), an aspiring actor who endures repeated setbacks but continues to rise again, driven by his dream of becoming an actor. Strong weekend momentum is expected.
Director Lee Myung-se’s documentary Ran 12.3 placed third with 17,231 viewers, reaching a cumulative total of 55,309.
The film documents the tense on-site moments of those who stepped forward to defend democracy following the sudden declaration of martial law on December 3, 2024.
Project Hail Mary ranked fourth with 15,223 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 2,361,920.
The film centers on a scientist who wakes up alone aboard a spacecraft with no memory and must carry out a final mission to prevent humanity’s extinction. It is based on the novel by Andy Weir, author of The Martian.
The King's Warden placed fifth with 11,285 viewers, pushing its cumulative total to 16,639,661. The film remains No.2 on the all-time Korean box office chart, surpassing Extreme Job (16,266,641).
Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, the film tells the story of a village leader who voluntarily chooses exile for the revival of his community and a young deposed king sent into exile.
