Colony reveals six contrasting faces standing against an evolving infection crisis, led by Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo.
The film is set inside a sealed building where an unidentified outbreak traps survivors, forcing them to confront infected beings that mutate in unpredictable ways.
Against the backdrop of infected bodies entangled into a massive wall-like formation, the six characters emerge with sharply defined identities. The outstretched arms of the infected, poised to strike at any moment, heighten the sense of imminent danger.
Jun Ji-hyun’s Se-jeong stands firm before the infected, embodying the resolve of a leader determined to guide survivors toward escape. In contrast, Koo Kyo-hwan’s Seo Young-cheol, shown in handcuffs with an enigmatic expression, deepens the mystery surrounding the figure believed to have triggered the outbreak.
Ji Chang-wook’s Hyun-seok, drenched in blood while gripping a pole, conveys relentless determination to fight until the end. Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-been’s Seol-hee, clad in protective gear, signals a parallel struggle outside the building to contain the crisis.
Kim Shin-rok’s Hyun-hee, caught in a moment of disbelief, and Go Soo’s Gyu-seong, maintaining an unwavering composure, highlight contrasting responses to the same life-or-death situation, amplifying narrative tension.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, known for redefining the zombie genre, Colony is set to hit theaters on May 21.
