Hwang Kwang-hee delivers explosive laughs with his unpredictable variety skills, turning a simple recording session into chaos.
The April 12 episode of MBC’s “The Secret Friends Club” follows Cha Tae-hyun, Park Bo-young, Lee Sun-bin, Hwang Kwang-hee, and Kang Hoon as they begin a group stay to support their secret manito team, “Ulsan Whales.” With senior members Lee Soo-ji and chef Yoon Nam-no joining, the team embarks on creating a cheer song, marking the start of their full-scale mission.
Previously, Cha Tae-hyun recruited his close friend Hong Kyung-min as music director, successfully producing a catchy cheer song within hours. The members then gathered to record the chorus together, setting the stage for an unexpected highlight.
Despite his idol background, Hwang Kwang-hee appeared unusually tense, shouting, “Don’t look at me,” as he prepared to record. However, once he began singing, his overly emotional delivery, resembling a dramatic cry rather than a cheer chant, sent the room into laughter.
Watching from the front row, the members struggled to hold back their reactions. Lee Sun-bin and Yoon Nam-no were even moved to tears, joking, “It feels like we just watched a sad movie.” Meanwhile, Cha Tae-hyun maintained his signature composure, adding to the comedic contrast.
Determined to redeem himself, Hwang Kwang-hee shouted, “Don’t criticize me,” and attempted another take. But in a critical moment, he mispronounced the intended lyric “Spread far and wide” as “Get lost everywhere,” instantly throwing the entire set into chaos once again.
Growing flustered, he even clapped the slate himself and shouted, “Everyone get out,” in a sudden burst of frustration, pushing the scene into full comedic meltdown.
