Rookie girl group UNCHILD, the first new act in six years from High Up Entertainment and widely dubbed the junior group to STAYC, has officially lifted the veil with a striking debut trailer that positions the team as a fifth-generation disruptor.
On April 8, High Up Entertainment released a debut trailer introducing all six members, Park Yeeun, Hiki, Tina, Ako, Yvonne, and Na Haeun, via its official social channels, outlining the group’s core identity.
The trailer assembles the members’ visuals with a distinctly offbeat, funky tone, delivering the group’s defining keyword: “FREAKY.” The concept leans into unpredictability, using unconventional imagery to dismantle traditional girl group archetypes.
From Na Haeun playfully shaking a bowl of rice at a local diner to Park Yeeun sprinting in reverse on a running track, and leader Hiki performing a dynamic flag routine in the middle of a crosswalk, the visuals deliberately subvert polished, standardized idol imagery.
Additional sequences extend that disruption: Tina performs fluid ballet movements inside a bus, Ako delivers eccentric reactions under intense spotlight, while main vocalist Yvonne sits cross-legged in meditation in the middle of a cityscape. Each vignette reinforces the group’s “RAW” aesthetic, capturing individuality in its most unfiltered form.
This six-member synergy signals a deliberate departure from conventional visual narratives, reframing diversity of character as the group’s central strength and setting expectations for a multidimensional stage presence.
UNCHILD, combining the prefix “UN-” (to reject norms) with “CHILD” (a free, unconstrained individual), consists of members including former dance creator Na Haeun and skilled trainees from the survival program I-LAND 2. The group is set to officially debut on April 21.
