The rising boy group sharpens its identity with unity, sincerity, and a clear sense of direction
Rising K-pop boy group MODYSSEY is set to make its official debut, signaling a confident start built on strong teamwork and emotional cohesion.
The seven-member group, consisting of Hungyu, Panzei, Lizhao, Linlin, Suren, Ichen, and Rowan, recently concluded its pre-debut project through Mnet’s reality program “SAY SAY MODYSSEY.” The finale, presented under the concept of a “K-pop takeover project,” effectively captured both the members’ unfiltered charm and the deepened bond formed through a series of missions and variety segments.
Across the program, the group demonstrated a consistent sense of trust and authenticity, charting its evolution into a unified team. From unpredictable segments like the “random sleeping arrangement challenge” to fan-driven missions, the members balanced humor with competitive energy. Hungyu and Suren, in particular, stood out after drawing an outdoor tent penalty in cold weather, turning the moment into lighthearted entertainment. Hungyu’s quip, “Let’s succeed later and get payback,” added a sharp, playful edge.
The “fan love test” mission further intensified the dynamic, as members competed for the chance to provide a coffee truck gift for fans. Although Ichen, Rowan, and Lizhao secured the initial win, the group ultimately chose to present the gift under all seven names, reinforcing its collective identity and shared intent.
The defining moment arrived at sunrise along the East Sea, where the members openly reflected on their mindset ahead of debut. Lizhao stated, “The rising sun feels like our future. As long as we have each other, nothing is frightening,” while Linlin added, “If we stay together, we can achieve anything.” The exchange crystallized the group’s core narrative: unity as strength.
Through “SAY SAY MODYSSEY,” the group has effectively framed its debut as a story of growth rather than a single event. Their on-stage charisma is now matched by off-stage authenticity, positioning them to build a closer rapport with fans.
MODYSSEY will officially debut on April 13 with its first single “1.Got Hooked: An Addictive Symphony.” The title track “HOOK,” produced by Stray Kids’ production unit 3RACHA, is already drawing strong attention ahead of release.
