BABYMONSTER marked its second debut anniversary with a witty and high-energy content release, offering fans an early glimpse into its upcoming comeback plans.
YG Entertainment unveiled the group’s self-produced video “BAEMON NEWS 7 THE 1ST BM AWARDS… AND MORE” on April 3 through its official channels. The content revives a news-style skit format for the first time in approximately 18 months since the group’s initial album rollout teaser.
In the video, members take on roles such as anchor, analyst, fortune teller, and reporter, staging a mock awards ceremony dubbed the “BM Awards.” With humorous categories like “Damages” and “Fatal Impact,” the group showcases sharpened variety skills and an instinct for comedic timing.
Amid the playful narrative, key spoilers were subtly embedded. Ahyeon, alongside Ruka and Pharita, hinted at the group’s upcoming world tour, stating they will begin in Seoul this June to meet more MONSTIEZ worldwide. A brief, partially obscured preview of the choreography for the new track “CHOOM” was also revealed.
By blending entertainment with strategic teasers, the group not only celebrated its milestone anniversary but also heightened anticipation for its next chapter.
BABYMONSTER is set to release its third mini album “CHOOM” on May 4. The group will then kick off its second world tour with a three-day concert in Seoul from June 26 to 28, followed by performances across Asia, North America, Oceania, Europe, and South America.
