BTS returns to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, as “SWIM,” the lead single from its fifth studio album ARIRANG, debuts at No. 1 on the chart dated April 4.
The debut marks BTS’s seventh career Hot 100 No. 1. The track opens atop the chart alongside strong album performance, with ARIRANG launching with 4.16 million in first-week sales. The release also drives the group’s concurrent presence at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, a milestone last achieved with “Life Goes On.”
The release follows a multi-year period of individual member activity after the anthology album Proof. During that time, members expanded their solo catalogs and global reach, contributing to sustained visibility ahead of the group’s latest full-length project.
Musically, ARIRANG emphasizes Korean-language identity and production aesthetics, while its rollout included a Gwanghwamun live event and appearances across global platforms including Spotify and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In a statement, BTS said, “We want to share this achievement with ARMY. We hope ‘SWIM’ offers comfort and encouragement to listeners around the world.”
The group is set to resume full-group content with Run BTS 2.0 and will launch a 46-date stadium tour beginning in Goyang this April, with stops across North America, Europe and South America.
