In Episode 5, aired on March 28, Ki Soo-jong (Ha Jung-woo) and Kim Sun (Im Soo-jung) found themselves confronting an uncontrollable situation that quickly spiraled beyond their initial intentions. What began as an attempt to manage a crisis took a darker turn inside an underground freezer, where the narrative shifted into a more volatile phase.
The two confined Oh Dong-gi (Heo Bong-sik) in the storage facility while scrambling for a solution. An unexpected injury compounded the urgency, with Kim Sun maintaining composure as she administered first aid. Meanwhile, Ki Soo-jong wavered between reliance on his wife’s cold rationality and the emotional turbulence triggered by memories of past betrayal.
Kim Sun anchored him, forcing a confrontation with their shared wrongdoing and emphasizing the necessity of decisive action. Her words, especially those weighing family against survival, pushed Ki Soo-jong further into moral conflict.
