"The King's Warden" (dir. Jang Hang-jun) has surpassed 15.1 million admissions, maintaining its firm grip on the top spot at the box office.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system on March 27, the film drew 72,421 viewers on March 26, ranking No.1 for the day. Its cumulative audience now stands at 15,104,062.
After crossing the 10 million mark in just 31 days, the film has continued its box office momentum, surpassing "Ode to My Father" (14.26 million) and "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds" (14.41 million) to rank No.3 on the all-time Korean box office chart. Despite a gradual slowdown in daily attendance and increasing competition from new releases, attention is now on whether it can overtake "Extreme Job" (16.26 million) and "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" (17.61 million).
Set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, the film follows a village head who voluntarily chooses exile for the sake of his community and a young deposed king forced into exile. As the first Korean film to explore the untold story of King Danjong, it has gained strong word-of-mouth, driven by standout performances from Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Kim Min.
"Project Hail Mary" ranked No.2 with 41,233 viewers on the same day, bringing its cumulative total to 758,816.
The film follows a scientist who awakens alone on a spacecraft with no memory and must complete a final mission to prevent humanity’s extinction. It is based on the novel by Andy Weir, author of "The Martian."
"Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" ranked No.3 with 4,450 viewers, reaching a cumulative total of 5,712,715.
The film depicts the first chapter of the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and elite demons inside the Infinity Castle.
"Protector" entered at No.4 with 3,925 viewers, recording a cumulative audience of 9,548.
The film follows Nikki Halstead (Milla Jovovich), a former U.S. special forces operative, as she races against time to rescue her kidnapped daughter Chloe within 72 hours in a relentless pursuit.
"Hoppers" rounded out the top five with 3,316 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 663,663.
The animated adventure follows Mabel, a girl transformed into a robotic beaver through “hopping” technology, who infiltrates the animal world and embarks on an unexpected journey.
