Kep1er have kicked off their comeback rollout with a striking shift in tone, unveiling the first concept teaser for their new album CRACK CODE. Released on March 18, the ‘LOCKED’ version sets the stage for the group’s first return as a six-member lineup, immediately signaling a darker and more refined direction.
The most immediate change lies in the visuals. Draped in black-toned styling built on sheer textures, straps, and cut-out details, the group embraces a ‘shadow chic’ aesthetic that departs sharply from their previously bright and energetic image. The controlled silhouettes and restrained intensity suggest a deliberate, calculated reinvention rather than a surface-level shift.
The concept film deepens this narrative. Beginning with Xiaoting’s still, almost hypnotic gaze, the video sustains a quiet tension before snapping into a sudden burst led by Dayeon’s raw shout. The interplay between composed visuals and eruptive emotion creates a layered message, hinting at an inner identity breaking free from restraint.
CRACK CODE arrives roughly seven months after BUBBLE GUM and stands as Kep1er’s first release since reorganizing into six members. More than a standard comeback, the project positions itself as a reset point—one that reframes both the group’s image and its narrative trajectory ahead of its March 31 release.
