Park Jinyoung and Kim Minju captured viewers’ attention in JTBC’s Friday series Still Shining as their characters crossed paths again in an unexpected moment after ten years.
Episodes 3 and 4, which aired on March 13, depicted the two characters meeting again after walking very different paths in life, leaving a lingering emotional impact.
Episode 3 showed Mo Eun-a (Kim Minju) beginning a new chapter after starting work at a hotel through the introduction of Bae Sung-chan (Shin Jae-ha). Yeon Tae-seo (Park Jinyoung) quietly supported her from afar, watching the changes in her life. Even while living apart, the brief moments they managed to share created a warmth that resonated with viewers.
However, a small misunderstanding and conflicting schedules unexpectedly cut their meetings short. Yeon Tae-seo visited the hotel hoping to see Mo Eun-a, but workplace regulations prevented them from speaking, forcing him to leave without a word. Eventually, Mo Eun-a implied a breakup by saying, “Let’s spend our time on our own lives,” leaving Tae-seo in tears. It was a difficult decision made between an uncertain future and opportunities neither wanted to lose.
Episode 4 then shifted to the present, revealing the lives of Tae-seo and Eun-a ten years later as they entered their thirties. Tae-seo had left his corporate job and was working as a subway train operator, spending his free time crafting picture frames. Eun-a, meanwhile, had closed the stay she once operated in Tongyeong and returned to Seoul, searching for work at a new traditional house stay.
At one point, Tae-seo noticed playback stopping on the music account he once shared and instinctively realized Eun-a was listening. Around the same time, Eun-a recognized Tae-seo’s voice through a subway announcement. Though they attempted to approach each other, an unexpected situation disrupted their first reunion.
Fate eventually brought them back to the same platform. After spotting each other yet holding back their emotions, Tae-seo and Eun-a finally faced one another. Tae-seo quietly broke the long silence with a single line: “It’s been a while,” a greeting that carried the weight of ten years.
