The group BLACKPINK has once again proven its overwhelming status in the global music market as their new song, GO, entered the U.S. Billboard main single chart, the Hot 100.
According to the latest charts released by Billboard on the 9th (local time), the title track GO from BLACKPINK's third mini-album, DEADLINE, landed at No. 63 on the Hot 100 chart. With this achievement, BLACKPINK has successfully entered the Hot 100 for the 11th time in their career, marking the highest number of entries for any K-pop female artist.
Their performance on the album charts is equally impressive. In the previously released Billboard 200 main album chart, DEADLINE took the No. 8 spot. This marks the 5th time a BLACKPINK album has entered the Billboard 200 chart.
BLACKPINK's influence extends beyond the United States into the United Kingdom. On the UK Official Charts, considered one of the world's two major pop charts alongside Billboard, the new song GO ranked 44th on the Singles Top 100, while the album DEADLINE reached 11th on the Albums Top 100. By successfully entering the UK charts for the 12th time in the singles category and the 4th time in the album category, they have secured the record for the most entries among K-pop female artists.
This new release, DEADLINE, garnered immense anticipation from fans worldwide as it arrived after a long hiatus of approximately 3 years and 5 months. According to Hanteo Chart, a domestic album sales site, the album sold over 1.77 million copies within the first week of its release, shattering the all-time first-week sales record (Chodong) for K-pop girl groups.
As BLACKPINK continues their streak of setting new records on major global charts following their long-awaited comeback, the international music industry is closely watching the final milestones they will achieve during this promotional period.
