Netflix has unveiled the second season of its live-action series “One Piece,” bringing the Straw Hat Pirates back for another adventure on March 10.
According to Netflix’s global release schedule, the new season launched at midnight Pacific Time (PT 00:00). In Korea, viewers can begin streaming the series from 4 p.m. on the same day. As with the first season, all episodes are released simultaneously.
“One Piece” is based on the globally celebrated manga by Eiichiro Oda. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates as they sail the seas in search of the legendary treasure known as the “One Piece.” The original manga has surpassed 500 million copies in worldwide circulation, making it one of the most successful comic series in history.
The first season, released in 2023, became a global hit on Netflix and quickly climbed the platform’s international charts. Despite initial skepticism about adapting the beloved manga into live action, the series gained praise for capturing the spirit of its characters and world.
Season 2 continues the story as Luffy and his crew set their sights on the Grand Line, a dangerous and legendary sea route. The new season is expected to depict several major arcs from the original story, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island.
New characters will also expand the world of the series, with fan favorites such as Tony Tony Chopper and Marine officer Smoker set to make their appearances. While the first season introduced audiences to the beginnings of Luffy’s journey, the second season marks the start of a far greater adventure on the high seas.
