Young violinist Lee Yunha, who has been drawing attention in the classical music scene, will hold a solo recital at Rayul Art Hall on March 14. Despite being in her late teens, she has already attracted audiences with performances that reveal her own distinct musical voice.

Since first picking up the violin as a child, Lee has continued to search for her own musical language through the bow and strings. For her, music is both a tool for expressing emotion and a medium for shaping thought. Through performance, it becomes a window that connects her inner world with the audience.

Her studies at the Seoul Arts Center Music Academy for the Gifted helped her refine technical precision while also deepening her exploration of music and personal expression. Success in domestic and international competitions, along with experience on global stages, has strengthened her sense of responsibility as a performer. Even so, the moment she values most remains the deep immersion of performance and the connection she forms with the audience.

The recital program includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Partita No. 1 in B minor,” Niccolò Paganini’s “Caprice No. 20 in D major,” and the first movement of Felix Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto in E minor, Op.64.” The selection reflects both Lee’s technical development and her evolving musical interpretation, allowing listeners to experience her delicate expression and thoughtful approach to each piece.

Bach’s work is renowned for its structural clarity and refined sonic expression. In particular, the elegant rhythm of the Allemanda and the rapid, repeating structure of the Double Presto draw the audience directly into the musical world. Lee brings her own nuanced phrasing and youthful sensibility to the piece, offering a fresh interpretation.

The next work, Niccolò Paganini’s “Caprice No. 20 in D major,” stands as a pinnacle of violin technique. Known for its brilliant arpeggios and rhythmic variations, the piece tests both accuracy and concentration. Through this work, Lee is expected to demonstrate the full scope of her technical command.

The recital concludes with Felix Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto in E minor, Op.64, I. Allegro molto appassionato,” a defining work of Romantic violin repertoire. Although originally written for violin and orchestra, the performance will focus on the emotional dialogue between performer and audience, highlighting the expressive depth of the piece.

Lee has already begun to establish her name on both domestic and international stages. She has won first prize in several competitions, including those hosted by Kukmin Ilbo, Music Education News, and Seoul Young Artist. She also earned second place in the Strings Category at the American Youth Competition, demonstrating her international-level artistry.

Her stage experiences include performances at the ETHAN WINNERS CONCERT, collaborations with the Lyum Chamber Orchestra, and appearances in the Seoul Arts Center’s Music Gifted Concert. These experiences add further depth to her upcoming recital.

Currently a third-year student at Yewon School, Lee studies under violinist Kwon Myunghye. Through close mentorship, she has developed both technical and musical foundations. Her practice process continues to be a journey of reflection, discovery, and artistic growth.

The venue itself also contributes to the concert experience. Rayul Art Hall’s intimate setting allows the distance between performer and audience to narrow, delivering even the most delicate textures of sound. Listeners can closely observe the movement of the bow and the subtle shifts in tone, creating a direct musical connection.

Lee Yunha’s violin sound carries more than notes. It reflects her experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Though still young, she is already building a path through music that connects her inner voice with the wider world.

Through this recital, audiences will witness not only a performance but the unfolding growth of a young artist’s musical journey. For Lee Yunha, the violin remains a path that connects her life with music, and a window that will continue to open toward the future.
