Felix of the K-pop group Stray Kids has been appointed an honorary ambassador for the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, positioning him as a symbolic cultural bridge between the two countries.
The French Embassy in Seoul announced during an official press conference on March 5 that Felix was jointly appointed as the “Honorary Ambassador for the 140th Anniversary of France–Korea Diplomatic Relations” alongside actor Jun Ji-hyun.
The appointment reflects Stray Kids’ overwhelming presence in France and the global influence of Felix as one of the group’s key members.
Stray Kids first made history in 2023 as the first K-pop act to headline Lollapalooza Paris. The group continued its strong momentum in the country with consecutive invitations to charity events hosted by the First Lady of France in 2024 and again in January this year.
Notably, the group’s record-setting attendance of 120,000 fans at Stade de France in July last year underscored not only the team’s global stature but also the immense support Felix commands among French fans.
As honorary ambassador, Felix is expected to participate in major cultural events commemorating the 140th anniversary, contributing to the expansion of people-to-people and artistic exchanges between Korea and France. The role is also expected to help share the meaning of the diplomatic milestone with younger generations and broaden public engagement.
The embassy said it highly valued Felix’s international recognition and his ability to expand cultural resonance among younger audiences. Felix also shared a brief message, saying, “Various cultural and artistic events are scheduled in Korea throughout this year, so I hope many people will show interest and take part.”
Meanwhile, Stray Kids will meet fans at their sixth official fan meeting “STAY in Our Little House,” scheduled for March 28–29 and April 4–5 at Inspire Arena in Incheon.
