The King’s Warden delivered a massive March 1 surge, drawing 817,212 moviegoers in a single day and firmly securing the top spot at the Korean box office. Its cumulative total now stands at 8,484,433 admissions, putting the 10 million mark squarely within reach.
Directed by Jang Hang-jun and starring Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Kim Min, the historical drama has demonstrated exceptional momentum. It reached 3 million in 14 days, 4 million in 15 days, 5 million in 18 days, 6 million in 20 days, 7 million in 24 days, and 8 million in 26 days, positioning it as the strongest contender to become the first 10 million–admission film of the year.
In second place, HUMINT added 54,658 admissions for the day, bringing its cumulative total to 1,822,175. The film is directed by Ryoo Seung-wan and stars Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Shin Se-kyung, and Park Hae-joon.
Hoppers ranked third with 22,185 preview admissions ahead of its March 4 release.
The Orchestra of God placed fourth with 1,391,739 cumulative admissions.
Rounding out the top five is 5 Centimeters Per Second, the live-action adaptation directed by Makoto Shinkai, which has recorded 59,587 admissions to date.
