Park Shin-hye has moved one step closer to exposing the slush fund scheme in tvN’s weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong.
Episode 14, which aired on March 1, accelerated Hong Geum-bo’s pursuit of the hidden funds and heightened the drama’s tension. According to paid platform data including cable, IPTV, and satellite, the episode recorded a nationwide average rating of 11.8 percent and a peak of 13.1 percent, marking a new series high. In the Seoul metropolitan area, it posted an average of 12.3 percent and a peak of 13.9 percent, continuing its upward trajectory.
In the episode, Hong Geum-bo persuaded Shin Jung-woo to raise the flag of the “Yeouido Pirate Crew” once again. After revealing the slush fund ledger of Hanmin Securities and clarifying her objective, she secured Shin’s support. Go Bok-hee, Albert Oh, and Lee Yong-gi soon joined, completing the new team. The group launched a new website to formalize their activities, with Hong stepping forward as the official representative.
Meanwhile, Hanmin Securities Chairman Kang Pil-bum intensified internal tensions by pitting Albert Oh against Kang Nora for the vacant CEO position. Both were tasked with uncovering the true identity of the Yeouido Pirate Crew. Albert subtly revealed to his father, Executive Director Oh Deok-gyu, that he was the captain. Attempting to conceal this, Oh falsely reported another individual as the leader. In the end, Albert was recognized for his contributions and appointed CEO.
The balance shifted once more when Chief Secretary Song Ju-ran, who supported Kang Nora, disclosed an audio recording of a conversation between Albert and Oh Deok-gyu to Chairman Kang. She further provoked his anger by pinning the Fox Society slush fund issue on Oh. Ultimately, Oh was completely cast out by the chairman, signaling that the Pirate Crew’s operation was unfolding successfully.
Despite being expelled from his home and losing everything, Albert did not hesitate to assist Hong’s plan. Kang Nora also traveled to Switzerland to attempt a withdrawal of slush funds from her own account, reinforcing the operation. Characters who once stood on opposing sides now united for a shared objective, deepening the narrative’s intensity.
Believing that decisive evidence was hidden in Song’s safe, the Yeouido Pirate Crew secretly opened it. Inside were critical materials, including borrowed-name accounts and official seals used by Hanmin Securities branch managers to create the slush funds. Acting swiftly, the team successfully secured the hidden domestic funds.
Having grasped the full scope of the situation too late, Kang Pil-bum erupted in fury. In the closing moments, he prepared a counterstrike targeting Hong Geum-bo and Shin Jung-woo, foreshadowing a fierce clash in the final two episodes.
