The Paradise Cultural Foundation will present a global music festival bringing together leading figures of Asian popular music.
On February 26, the foundation announced that “Asian Pop Festival 2026” will be held over two days, May 30 and 31, at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
The festival curates contemporary music emerging from cities across Asia under a unified programming vision. It aims to position Yeongjongdo as a new “music island” through a large-scale popular music event. This year, the schedule has been moved forward by about one month to avoid the monsoon season and ensure a more comfortable outdoor viewing environment.
At the center of this year’s lineup are legendary artists transcending generations and borders. Taeko Onuki, a former member of Sugar Babe and widely regarded as a pioneer of Japanese city pop, will take the Korean stage for the first time in her more than 50-year career. She was also known as a musical collaborator of the late Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Korean music icons will also join the stage. Kim Chang-wan, who recently released the new single “Seventy,” will perform with the Kim Chang-wan Band, while 1990s rock pioneers Noise Garden will mark the 30th anniversary of their first album with a commemorative performance. The lineup further includes Japanese rock band Quruli, returning to Korea for the first time in 15 years, Thailand’s YONLAPA, Taiwan’s Someshiit, as well as Korean acts Crying Nut and Broccoli, You Too, among many other veteran and emerging artists from across Asia.
A foundation official stated, “This festival will go beyond a simple sequence of performances and serve as a platform for active exchange within the Asian music market,” adding, “By utilizing the outdoor lawn plaza and various indoor and outdoor specialized spaces, we will deliver a more immersive and multidimensional music experience to audiences.”
