Comedian and TV personality Park Na-rae was questioned by police over allegations including workplace abuse involving her former manager.
According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Park was summoned and questioned as a suspect on charges of aggravated assault and battery from 3:00 p.m. to 10:40 p.m. on Feb. 20. Although she had previously been questioned as a complainant, this marked her first interrogation as a suspect.
After more than seven hours of questioning, Park appeared before reporters and bowed her head, saying, “I am sorry.” When asked whether she had abused her manager, she responded, “I will correct the facts.”
Former managers previously filed criminal complaints late last year, alleging they had been subjected to workplace harassment.
Park is also facing allegations of receiving illegal medical procedures through an unlicensed practitioner colloquially known as an “injection auntie,” a term for individuals who administer injections without medical licenses. Police stated they plan to summon her again for further questioning regarding the matter.
Park has filed counter-complaints against her former managers on charges including attempted extortion and occupational embezzlement. Both sides have already completed questioning as complainants.
