[NC Box Office] The King's Warden holds dominant No.1 run, set to surpass 5 million weekend admissions

The King's Warden continued its overwhelming box office momentum, firmly holding the No.1 position.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing network on Feb. 21, The King's Warden drew 264,741 moviegoers on Feb. 20 alone, securing first place. Its cumulative total has reached 4,679,421 admissions.

The film surpassed 3 million viewers in just 14 days after release, quickly reaching its break-even point. By its 15th day on Feb. 18, it had crossed the 4 million mark. This pace is faster than The King and the Clown, which remains the first historical film to surpass 10 million admissions and reached its milestone in 17 days.

The King's Warden tells the story of a village leader who voluntarily exiles himself to Cheongnyeongpo in 1457 to revive his community, and a young dethroned king forced into exile. The film marks director Jang Hang-jun’s latest work as a storyteller, featuring a strong ensemble cast including Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Kim Min.

Humint ranked second, attracting 51,306 viewers in a single day and bringing its cumulative total to 1,390,960 admissions.

Set in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths sink beneath an icy sea, Humint follows individuals with conflicting motives as they collide. Directed by Ryoo Seung-wan of The Berlin File, Smugglers, and the Veteran series, the film stars Zo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Shin Se-kyung, and Park Hae-joon.

Number One placed third with 9,033 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 207,642 admissions. The film follows Ha-min, who begins seeing numbers decrease each time his mother eats, only to discover that when the number reaches zero, she will die, prompting him to fight to save her.

App the Horror Yeong ranked fourth with 8,195 viewers, reaching a cumulative total of 35,275. The story centers on high school students who create a ghost-detection app called Yeong for fun, only to unleash strange phenomena after breaking a forbidden seal.

Choir of God came in fifth, drawing 8,017 viewers and reaching a cumulative total of 1,315,702 admissions. The film portrays the story of a fake praise group formed in North Korea for foreign currency operations.
