Once We Were Us, 2.5 Million Hit, to Stream Free on Coupang Play

The hit romance film Once We Were Us, which surpassed 2.5 million admissions, will soon be available to stream free at home.

Coupang Play announced that Once We Were Us will be offered as a special free benefit for 72 hours, from February 27 to March 1. All WOW members can access the promotion through the Coupang Play My Page under the Coup Club section and watch the film freely during the designated period.

Once We Were Us follows Eunho, played by Koo Kyohwan, and Jungwon, played by Moon Gayoung, who reunite unexpectedly after ten years and revisit the memories of their past love. Directed by Kim Doyoung, known for his restrained yet refined storytelling, the film drew strong attention even before its release thanks to the pairing of Koo’s distinctive acting and Moon’s rising presence as a leading romance actress.

The film resonated deeply with audiences by portraying not only the excitement of love but also the painful reality of separation. Despite competition from major Hollywood releases, it sustained long term box office momentum. It became the first Korean melodrama since 2019 to surpass 2 million admissions and ultimately exceeded 2.5 million viewers, confirming its widespread popularity.

The film’s OST, Lim Hyunjung’s Love Is Like Spring Rain… Farewell Is Like Winter Rain, also saw renewed attention. Twenty three years after its original release, the song re entered music charts following its inclusion in the film.
