Park Bo-gum’s steady growth as a “rookie barber,” along with his older brothers’ struggle against the unexpected challenge of childcare, delivered harmless healing and laughter to viewers.

The third episode of tvN’s The Village Barber, which aired on Feb. 13, followed Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Kwak Dong-yeon as they faced the full intensity of “childcare day” on their second day of business.

The episode opened with the trio’s warm teamwork as they stayed late to serve their final customer of the day. After dedicating themselves fully to their first day, their contrasting evening routines revealed different sides of their personalities.

While Lee Sang-yi and Kwak Dong-yeon collapsed onto the sofa in exhaustion, Park Bo-gum demonstrated his “endless energizer” spirit, preparing dinner and even completing a morning riverside run the next day without showing fatigue.

Day 2 began energetically as young customers flooded the barbershop. Returning elementary school regulars and sibling customers quickly transformed the space into an impromptu childcare zone.

Lee Sang-yi stepped up as the “childcare relief pitcher,” performing card magic and caring for a 100-day-old baby. Yet overwhelmed by the children’s boundless energy, he joked, “Childcare is harder than doing nails,” drawing laughter. Kwak Dong-yeon also played a reliable supporting role, winning over the children with thoughtfully prepared fish cakes and drinks.

Amid the chaos, Park Bo-gum’s technical growth stood out. He took on the barbershop’s biggest challenge yet, cutting long hair into a bob style. Despite the tension, his confident scissors work delivered what was described as “200 percent satisfaction” for the customer. He also maintained composure despite unexpected challenges, including the shop’s first waiting line and customers arriving during meal time.

In particular, his thoughtful approach to a young customer afraid of haircuts, singing children’s songs at eye level while quickly completing the styling, demonstrated his evolution into a true barber.

However, the peaceful barbershop soon faced another crisis. The episode ended with a preview of a young girl bursting into tears after growing tired of waiting. Even Park Bo-gum, known for his gentle demeanor, appeared flustered. Viewers are now focused on how the trio will overcome this unexpected situation through teamwork.

Meanwhile, tvN’s The Village Barber airs every Friday at 8:35 p.m.
