EXO is expanding the world of its eighth full-length album through a lighthearted self-produced variety series that adds a humorous twist to its signature mythology.
According to SM Entertainment, the first episode of EXO’s original variety content Crown to the Throne will be released at 10 p.m. on February 8 via the group’s official YouTube channel.
The two-part series playfully reinterprets the concept of the album’s title track “Crown,” framing it as a competition to determine who will claim the throne of “EXO Planet.” The episodes feature five missions, including a mixed-music quiz, relay drawing, and tactile guessing games, capturing the members’ intense competitiveness and quick-witted banter.
By spotlighting the members’ fixation on minor rules and their delightfully offbeat wrong answers, the content highlights a side of EXO rarely seen on stage. The series emphasizes the group’s approachable charm, offering a contrast to their onstage charisma while building momentum for upcoming projects.
The release also sets the stage for EXO’s packed schedule, including the premiere of reality series EXO’s Ladder: Travel the World Season 5 in March, followed by a solo concert in April.
EXO will hold its solo concert EXO PLANET #6 – EXhOrizon from April 10 to 12 at Seoul’s KSPO DOME. Fan club pre-sales open on February 12, followed by general ticket sales on February 13 via Melon Ticket.
