Actor Yoo Jung-ho delivered a powerful impact as the decisive “key man” who brings the first season of Disney+ original series Made in Korea to its climax, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.
On January 19, Youth Entertainment announced that Yoo appeared in episode six as Major Won Dong-hyeok, the head of investigations in the Security Command, showcasing an intense and controlled performance.
Won Dong-hyeok, portrayed by Yoo, approaches Baek Ki-hyun (played by Woo Do-hwan), who has been deployed to Vietnam, and proposes a secretive deal. With the cryptic remark, “I want to see if there is a younger brother worthy of his older one,” he demands intelligence on a regiment commander involved in corruption over military supplies. In return, he offers Baek Ki-hyun an irresistible opportunity: a change in status and a promotion in position. This moment becomes a decisive turning point, pulling Baek Ki-hyun into the heart of power and driving the tension of the narrative to its peak.
Yoo Jung-ho’s performance stood out through its restrained intensity. His dry, emotionless tone and piercing gaze perfectly embodied the cold and ruthless atmosphere unique to the Security Command. This portrayal laid bare the merciless nature of authority while simultaneously heightening immersion by contrasting sharply with Baek Ki-hyun’s desperate circumstances.
More importantly, Yoo’s appearance goes beyond a simple cameo and functions as a narrative bridge toward Season 2. As the catalyst that awakens Baek Ki-hyun, his proposal sets off a chain of consequences that raises anticipation for how the story will unfold in the next chapter.
Having previously demonstrated strong presence in films such as Asura and the drama Crash Landing on You, Yoo Jung-ho once again proved his wide-ranging acting spectrum through this role, firmly establishing his reputation as a “scene-stealing actor viewers can trust.”
